Thank you for visiting our website.The Nurses Council of Zimbabwe is a statutory body that regulates the training,practice and registration of all professional nurses in Zimbabwe and can be cited in the Health Professions Act (Chapter 27:19).
Promoting ethical practice, professional conduct, and quality healthcare for all Zimbabweans.
Maintaining high standards in nursing education through institution accreditation and program oversight.
Protecting the public through effective regulation of nursing and midwifery practice in Zimbabwe.

Promoting the provision of quality health care services to the public through enforcing the set professional standards and ethics in Nursing Education and Practice.

Upon registration, each nurse/midwife is issued with a registration certificate and a practicing certificate. The practicing certificate is subject to annual renewal.
The NCZ also plays a pivotal role in the verification of Nurse-led health institutions in Zimbabwe through the inspection of facilities to ensure that they meet the required standards.
The Nurses Council of Zimbabwe is also mandated to conduct quality qualifying examinations for all nursing disciplines. This is to ensure that all nurses within the Council’s jurisdiction meet an acceptable level of competence before they begin to practice.
